Assistance May Be Available For Those Who Lost Food, Incurred Other Expenses Due To Power Outage

(Columbus, OH) -- Assistance may be available for those who lost food or incurred other expenses during this week's power outage. 

AEP's website offers a claim form that covers spoiled food, hotel stays, restaurant bills, lost wages, and more. The company does, however, have a list of terms and restrictions on claims that may prevent central Ohioans from receiving payouts.

A more promising way to cover spoiled food costs, for those who receive State of Ohio SNAP benefits, is to apply for replacement funds through the Department of Job and Family Services.
