Columbus Police Increase Patrols In Parks After Two Weekend Shootings


(Columbus, OH) -- Columbus police are investigating a pair of deadly shootings at parks in the city on Saturday.

Authorities say a 19-year-old man died after being hit by gunfire at Nafzger Park on Noe Bixby Road around 6:10 p.m. A 20-year-old female victim was killed about two hours later at Saunders Park in the city's Mount Vernon neighborhood according to investigators.

Police say they're planning for increased patrols with uniformed and plainclothes officers following the weekend violence.
