Columbus Police Make First Round Of Arrests In 'Operation Wheels Down'


(Columbus, OH) -- Columbus police say arrests have been made as part of the city's 'Operation Wheels Down' initiative. 

The effort is an attempt by city officials to curb illegal and reckless riding of ATV's and dirt bikes on city streets. Authorities say 11 people have been arrested or issued a summons to appear in court, and 9 vehicles have been impounded.

Police say they are continuing to investigate complaints and collect video evidence of offenses related to illegal riding.
