Ticketmaster is apologizing after a Taylor Swift ticket fiasco left fans empty-handed.
The ticket-selling platform tweeted out the apology after it canceled the public sale this past Friday. Ticketmaster said an "unprecedented" amount of traffic flooded its site, and in order to meet the demand, Swift would have to put on some 900 shows.
Not only did the situation anger Swift, but the Department of Justice announced it was opening an anti-trust investigation into Ticketmaster's owner, Live Nation.
We want to apologize to Taylor and all of her fans - especially those who had a terrible experience trying to purchase tickets. We feel we owe it to everyone to share some information to help explain what happened: https://t.co/1Gn4kRIvq8
